Pugad Lawin Fun Run for a Cause

Pugad Lawin Philippines Quirino Chapter decided to organize a fun run that will be held this 2oth of July 2014 at Riverbanks Marikina City at 6:00 in the morning. Proceeds will go to the preservation of Marikina particularly Riverbanks.

PLPI holds Run for H.O.P.E.

Pugad Lawin Philippines, Incorporated (PLPI) holds Fun Run for HOPE (Honest, Orderly and Peaceful Elections) last May 10. Hundreds participated, the PLPI Secretariat reported. National President Lawin Dodo “Eisenhower” Alcala said that the event is in consonance with the commemoration of 116th death anniversary of Andres Bonifacio.

 Earlier National Historical Commission declared 2013 as Year of Bonifacio for the latter’s 150th birth anniversary. “Ating isinagawa ang fun run hindi lamang para sa halalan kundi ikintal sa diwa ng mamamayan ang kabayanihan ni Gat. Andres Bonifacio, ang ama ng demokrasya,”

NP Eisenhower stressed in his message. “Sa umagang ito, tumakbo tayo patungo sa pagkakaisa, sa isang malinis at mapayapang halalan, alang-alang sa ating Inang Bayan,” said Mayor Alfredo S. Lim
in his speech. “Mahalaga na ating pag-alabin ang pagmamahal sa tinubuang lupa.”

A covenant signing was also held before the run, the Secretariat also revealed. Lawins from different chapters like Pugad Lawin sa Northview, Pugad Lawin sa Quirino, Pugad Lawin sa San Pedro, Pugad Lawin sa Quezon City and Pugad Lawin sa Calaca joined the event.

 The fun run is supported by NHC and National Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) and local government of Manila City.

The PUGAD LAWIN is a four-decade old non-stock non-profit NGO comprising of socio-civic leaders, professionals, business...men, entrepreneurs and other volunteers who share in creating skills and livelihood for the young and the less fortunate, alleviating the plight of the victims of calamities, building the immediate community and making the Philippines and this world a better place to live in.
